VR kooperiert mit ReceiptHero, um digitale Quittungen zu liefern

12.01.2023

VR Group, the railway company owned by the Finnish State, has officially gone live on the ReceiptHero platform. From today, ReceiptHero users purchasing train tickets from the VR Matkalla app and the vr.fi website receive a digital receipt when they pay by card.

VR has been piloting the ReceiptHero solution since the beginning of 2023 with a handful of users. The service has now been introduced to all customers using the ReceiptHero service.

Receiving digital receipts in the ReceiptHero application is free of charge for consumers. With the new functionality, customers can also receive their receipts through the apps of our partners, such as Eurocard, M2, eTasku and Bezala. We will shortly announce more partners whose applications will be able to receive digital receipts.

"In 2022, 13.2 million domestic long-distance train trips were made. Many people travel for business and need a seamless way to get their receipts digitally and into expense solutions," says Joel Ojala, CEO of ReceiptHero. "So we are thrilled to be working with VR supporting Finland's shift to digital receipts."

"Sustainability is a big part of VR’s strategy, but so is better customer experience, meeting the customers’ needs and wishes – and exceeding expectations. We are happy to be part of building an advanced digital receipt solution in cooperation with ReceiptHero," says Marika Schugk, Director of Digital Services at VR.

According to the Finnish government's vision, digital receipts will become part of everyday financial management in central government, municipalities and companies by 2025.

The migration of VR and other major operators to digital receipts will significantly support this goal. VR follows in the footsteps of R-kioski, Neste, Puuilo and thousands of other merchants already live on the ReceiptHero platform.

"It is great to see that VR now provides customers with digital receipts. Real-Time Economy project continues to encourage as many companies as possible to follow VR’s leadership and understand the overall value of digital receipts and real-time economy," says Pirjo Ilola, Senior Financial Management Specialist at the Finnish Government.
