Neste Rolls Out Receipthero’s Digital Receipt Solution - A More Seamless and Responsible Payment Experience
Finland's largest fueling station chain has officially gone live on the ReceiptHero platform. From today, ReceiptHero users visiting Neste locations in Finland will receive a digital receipt when they pay. Neste is the first fueling station chain in Finland to offer digital receipts as an alternative to paper receipts.
Neste has been piloting the ReceiptHero solution since early last year with a handful of locations activated. The service has now been introduced at all manned and unmanned stations.
Receiving digital receipts in the ReceiptHero application is free of charge for consumers. With the new functionality, customers can also receive their receipts through the apps of our partners, such as Eurocard, M2, eTasku and Bezala. We will shortly announce more partners whose applications will be able to receive digital receipts.
"It is estimated that an average of 1.7 billion paper receipts are printed annually in Finland alone. It takes more than 30 000 cut trees to produce them," says Joel Ojala, CEO of ReceiptHero. "In addition to significant annual paper savings, digital receipts improve the customer experience for corporate customers, as ReceiptHero receipts are automatically transferred to, for example, corporate customers' expense reports."
"Sustainability is part of Neste's everyday business. We are looking for more responsible ways to serve our customers, and at the same time more seamless customer experience. We are happy to be part of building an advanced digital receipt solution in cooperation with ReceiptHero," says Katri Taskinen, Director of Neste's Finnish station network.
According to the Finnish government's vision, digital receipts will become part of everyday financial management in central government, municipalities and companies by 2025.
The migration of Neste and other major operators to digital receipts will significantly support this goal.
"It is great to see that Neste as a major corporation is contributing to this goal. The Finnish Government hopes that as many companies as possible will follow Neste's example and understand the overall value of digital receipts and real-time economy," says Pirjo Ilola, Senior Financial Management Specialist at the Finnish Government.
